Used to shape wood, particularly for coopering, hewing beams and removing bark from felled timber; for rough shaping of lumber prior to finishing by plane or spokeshave. Beveled on one edge only, should be pulled toward you with the grain. . Cylindrical har dwood handles for ease and comfort of use. Requires final honing before use; shipped with bevel ground edges.
